Maryam and Abdul is from Jordan and has lived in Al Ain a long time. If I think of this couple I think of what a great energy they form together. Maryam was game to try new things and she is so nice that it is easy to automatically just want to do everything in your power to make this day special for her.
This wedding differs from other weddings in the sense that the males and females had their receptions in two separate reception halls adjacent to each other. I was asked to, out of respect, not to photograph the guests unless approached. The formalities has already been completed on another occation and this day was just about celebration. It started off with the following of traditional Jordanian dancers meeting the couple and dancing them to the female venue. The groom is the only male to enter and leave the female venue for the various of rituals. One of these, was the cutting of the cake with the beautiful engraved sword. What normally is signified to me is the henna painted hands, Arabic dancing and the DJ lady wearing an abaya. Enjoy.
